Door County Christmas Returns to Green Bay

A space in the Bay Park Square Mall will again feature Door County products and businesses through the Christmas shopping season. Submitted.

Last year John Kugle came up with a great idea to promote Door County businesses in Green Bay during the holiday season – he leased a space at Bay Park Square Mall and invited Door County businesses to sub-lease from him to connect with Green Bay shoppers. He called the idea Door County Christmas.

Kugle is doing it again this year, however he has a larger space and a better location at the mall.

“People really responded to it last year,” Kugle said. “People thought it was a very cool idea to bring Door County businesses to Green Bay. We’re looking for more businesses this year. Last year we were in a space attached to the mall, but this year we have 4,500 square feet right in the mall, right next to Shopko.”

Gage, Inc., of Fish Creek is one of the businesses returning for the second year of Door County Christmas.

“Spruce, a high-end clothing store, is new this year. Door County Candle is returning,” Kugle said. “This is an opportunity for Door County businesses to double up their exposure. You can’t buy the kind of advertising they will get for those 60 days just by having a presence in the Green Bay store.”
