Door County Event – The Crossroads Explores the Birds of Christmas

Crossroads at Big Creek is greeting card beautiful, decked with a pioneer Christmas exhibit and wonderful snow. Regarding greeting cards, it is time for the Crossroads’ annual lecture. “Greeting Card Birds,” presented on Saturday, December 13 at 2 pm will focus on the various birds that grace many holiday greeting cards, from penguins to chickadees to cardinals. The lecture will also explore the history of the dominant Christmas colors, red and green.

Other activities at the Crossroads includes a nature hike on Friday, December 12 at 1 pm as well as an opportunity to ski on Sunday, December 14 from 1 – 3 pm. The public is welcome to borrow skis and explore the winder wonderland surrounding the crossroads (providing conditions are still favorable). Ski trails are free and open to the public. Hikers and dog walkers are asked to please use the designated hiking trails and stay off the groomed ski trails.

The Collins Learning Center, located at 2041 Michigan Street, Sturgeon Bay, is open daily 2 – 5 pm.
