Door County Featured on “Discover Wisconsin” Calendar

Discover Wisconsin, the nation’s longest-running tourism TV show, has published its popular calendar, featuring fall colors along a winding road in Northport for the month of November, taken by Bonnie Phillips. The Door County photo is also portrayed on the cover of the calendar. In partnership with Wisconsin Counties Association and Sargento, 12 fan-submitted photos are featured in the calendar, highlighting various Wisconsin destinations.

“Our annual photo contest and print calendar continues to grow in popularity year after year,” said Mariah Haberman, co-host and director of brand development for Discover Wisconsin. “Photos of Wisconsin are submitted from all over the country and the calendars are also shipped nationwide. Our crew is blown away by the submissions that roll in every summer!”

Following the submission and voting period, the Discover Wisconsin crew selected the top 12 photos to be featured in the official 2018 Discover Wisconsin Calendar. Of the top 12, the crew also selected a photo to be featured on the cover of the calendar and the cover of a 2018 issue of Wisconsin Counties magazine. The pages of this year’s calendar are filled with beautiful photos taken in the counties of Ozaukee, Oconto, Chippewa, Eau Claire, Kenosha, La Crosse, Polk, Iowa, Dane, Sauk, Door, and Pierce. The 2018 calendar is available for purchase this fall at for $5 plus $2 shipping and handling.

Thank you, Door County Pulse for publishing this article about the new 2018 Discover Wisconsin calendar featuring my photo, Ribbon Road for the month of November and the cover. This photo was taken on my first trip to Door County in late October 2015. My husband and I drove from Sturgeon Bay where we were staying at a rental cabin owned by Tom and Carin Roy. The clouds were increasing and it was raining a little by the time we reached the famous road in Northport. It didn’t stop me from getting a photo and the reflections in the road from the rain made the photo more dramatic, and there was little traffic because of the rain as well. We have since visited your beautiful county 4 times last year, once per season, and we just were there this past weekend enjoying the beautiful fall colors once again! So blessed to be able to share the beauty of your county with so many others! We hope to someday be Door County residents, not just visitors. We love it!!
