Door County Sail & Power Squadron Hosts Two Seminars

The Door County Sail & Power Squadron is offering a free two-hour seminar entitled Mastering the Rules of the Road on Feb. 26 at 1 pm. The seminar will take place at SkipperBud’s Quarterdeck Marina, located at 705 Quarterdeck Lane in Sturgeon Bay.
Seminar attendees will learn how to avoid collisions, rules for meeting head-on, crossing, overtaking, sound signals, and more. The instructor will be long-time Squadron member Bill Galligan, who has been boating nearly all his life. He has sailed in everything from 10-foot dinghies to 65-foot racing machines. He sailed competitively in college and has boated on all of the Great Lakes, except Superior, and also the connecting waterways, several major rivers, and the Caribbean.
Mastering the Rules of the Road is the first of several Power Squadron seminars planned for 2011. Additional seminars, hosted by various marinas in the area, will be held on Saturdays during the months of June, July, and August.
To register for the seminar, contact Squadron Education Officer Jeff Rosenfeld at 920.559.7520 or via email at [email protected]. For more information on the seminar, the Squadron, and its public offerings, visit http://www.usps.org/door.
