Door County Sail & Power Squadron Offers Anchoring Seminar

The Door County Sail & Power Squadron is offering Anchoring, a free two-hour seminar, at 9 am Aug. 27 at SkipperBud’s Quarterdeck Marina, 705 Quarterdeck Lane, Sturgeon Bay.

Seminar participants will learn about selection of anchor, rope and components; choices for sea conditions and bottom characteristics; deployment and recovery of anchors; and determining loads under various conditions.

The session will be taught by Past Rear Commander Alan Wentworth, SN, of Green Bay

The squadron will also offer a flare shoot and fire extinguisher training session on Sunday, Aug. 28 from 11 am – 1 pm. It will be a joint activity with the Sturgeon Bay Yacht Club held at 600 Nautical Drive.
