The Door County Historical Museum and Archives will hold their School Days program again Sept. 8-9. A great deal of information was gathered a few years ago on the many one-room schools and a permanent display of Door County schools was created on the lower level of the museum.
As you go through and clean your homes, set aside any photos or memorabilia relating to Door County schools. This could include photos of schools, classes, graduations, sports teams or other school events, and school award patches/letters or pins. Old high school yearbooks or school newsletters would also be appreciated. Check with the museum to see which years are missing from the collection. Documents and photos can be scanned and returned if you aren’t ready to part with them. This is an ongoing project, additional information is always welcome.
If you have any photos or memorabilia, bring them to the museum, located at 18 N. 4th Ave, Sturgeon Bay. The museum is open daily from 10 am to 4:30 pm, until Oct. 31. For more information email [email protected] or call 920.743.5809
