The Door County String Academy (DCSA) is now accepting enrollment for its 2012 Summer Programs. Programs offered are:

Meet the Orchestra Camp: Children, ages 4 – 6, will learn about orchestral instruments, hear live performances from each section of the orchestra (brass, woodwinds, percussion, and strings), make musical instruments and art, apply basic music theory concepts and receive hands-on introductory experience with violin, viola, cello and string bass. The session concludes with a joint performance with the DCSA Summer Fiddle Camp. The camp begins July 9 and meets every Monday and Wednesday from 9 – 10:30 am for four weeks.

Fiddle Camp: For violin, viola, cello and string bass players with at least one year of playing experience. The session concludes with a solo and fiddle ensemble performance. The camp begins on July 11 and meets each Wednesday from 5:30 – 6:30 pm for four weeks.

Summer Suzuki Violin Lessons: For children as young as four years old. Receive a 15-minute Suzuki violin lesson with the Suzuki-certified violin instructor, Bruce Bowers. Lessons will be offered on Mondays and Wednesdays beginning June 18 and ending August 20. Instruments are supplied.
