Door County Strivers Successful at Tournament

The Door County YMCA Strivers Gymnastic Team capped off the weekend tournament on Nov. 17 & 18 at the Manitowoc YMCA with fantastic results. The Team competed in the Luau Meet with gymnasts from 16 YMCAs across the state.

Tournament Results

Level 3

• Emily Ulberg – 1st floor, vault and all-around (AA); 2nd bars; 3rd beam.

• Miah Elyiha – 3rd floor and 4th beam.

• Abby Hocevar – 2nd floor.

• Breanna Kunz – 2nd vault; 4th floor; 5th AA.

• Alexis McCarthy – 1st bars and AA; 2nd beam.

• The Level 3 team won the meet with 144.4 points.

Level 4

• Miranda Kroll – 4th vault.

• Reetika Jandu – 1st bars; 3rd vault and beam; 6th floor; 4th AA.

• Katie Frank – 1st vault; 3rd floor; 4th bars; 6th beam; 3rd AA.

• Alexa Nelson – 1st on floor, vault, beam, bars and AA.

• The Level 4 team placed third with 139.65 points.

XCel Gold

• Sophia Pollman – 3rd vault and 5th beam.

XCel Platinum

• Kayla Counard – 2nd floor.

• Demi Ploor – 1st vault.

• Ellie Helm – 1st bars and AA; 2nd beam and floor.

• The XCel Platinum team placed second with 66.55 points.

Level 7

• Allyson Dickson – 1st vault; 2nd floor; 3rd AA; 6th beam.

• Jackie Mosgaller – 5th vault, beam, bars and AA.

Level 8

• Abby Thiede – 2nd vault and 4th floor.

The Door County YMCA will be the host for the 2013 YMCA State Gymnastic Tournament. The tournament will be held March 15 – 17. The boy’s competition will be held Friday evening at the Door County YMCA and the girl’s competition will be held Saturday and Sunday at Sturgeon Bay High School and T.J. Walker Middle School.
