Door County’s Peninsula State Park Offers Affordable Stocking Stuffers

Wisconsin State Park vehicle stickers went on sale Wednesday, Dec. 1. The sticker is valid at all state parks and trails through the 2011 calendar year. With five state parks in Door County alone, it is an excellent investment in both memory making and resource protection. Sticker sales will support the operating budget of Wisconsin parks.

For those who have Wisconsin license plates, the vehicle sticker costs $25 for the first car and half-price thereafter. Senior rates are also available.

Affordable “stocking stuffers” are also available for sale at Peninsula Headquarters, including singing bird ornaments ($3.50), Peninsula history books ($5/Centennial Reader), and snowy owls ($10). Proceeds will fund summer naturalist wages, ski grooming equipment, and invasive species work at Peninsula State Park.

The park is also offering a birdseed swap on Saturdays at the Nature Center. Participants who bring three pounds of birdseed will receive a free Peninsula State Park glass. (Limit three glasses per family.)

For more information call Peninsula State Park at 920.868.3258 or stop by Park Headquarters, open daily from 9 am – 4 pm.
