Down Payment Assistance Still Available for Sturgeon Bay Development

Potential Sturgeon Bay homebuyers can still take advantage of a $5,000, zero-percent interest forgivable loan for down payment assistance on a home in the Sunset Hill #2 subdivision. The subdivision of single-family homes is planned for the old WireTech Fabricators site near Amity Field. Seven homes have already been built and sold, two model homes are being constructed and there are eight lots available, according to the Door County Economic Development Center.

The American Red Cross of Northeast Wisconsin is offering Disaster Services: An Overview course, which is a basic level training that provides an introduction to Disaster Services and the American Red Cross. The purpose of the course is to provide information about ways participants can help their community prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies and disasters. Participants will also learn about volunteer opportunities at their local Red Cross chapter. The training will be ehld Thursday, Sept. 12, 5:30 to 9 pm, at the Door County Senior Resource Center, 832 N 14th Ave., Sturgeon Bay, WI  54235.
