The public is invited to a jewelry trunk show for New York jeweler Ann Egan on Oct. 6 – 8 at Edgewood Orchard Galleries. A large selection of Egan’s jewelry will be at the gallery, and refreshments will be served.
Egan studied painting in New York City at the School of Visual Arts. After graduating, she soon found a job managing and designing for a jewelry company in New York. Designing jewelry quickly became her main creative outlet and, although she had taken metal courses, her approach came from a painting and designing perspective.
Juxtaposing colors and shapes as a painter or a mosaic artist would, Egan melds together these distinct art forms in her own jewelry line, which she started in 1989.
She currently lives in upstate New York with her husband and three children and happily continues to create jewelry.
In addition to the jewelry trunk show, Edgewood’s 14th annual “Gifts from the Heart” group show continues until the gallery closes for the 2012 season on Oct. 28.
Edgewood Orchard Galleries, open daily 10 am – 5 pm, is located at 4140 Peninsula Players Road, between Juddville and Fish Creek.
