Egg Harbor Hosts New Year’s Parade and Icy Fun Run

Entering its 34th year, Egg Harbor’s quirky New Year’s Day Parade will begin at 1 pm regardless of the weather. To participate in the parade, line up at Stella Maris Parish, located at 7710 Highway 42. Parking is available in the lots on Church Street. No formal registration is required. The parade will run north through the Village of Egg Harbor from Harbor School Road to County E.

Immediately following the parade, along the parade route, will be a one-mile Icy Fun Run to benefit the Door County YMCA. An entry fee of $15 includes a pair of Frosty Fest logo gloves and hot chocolate at the finish line. To register for this family friendly run, sign-up at the Y in Sturgeon Bay or Fish Creek. Registration is also offered on January 1 from 12 – 1 pm at the start/finish line on the corner of Hwy 42 and Harbor School Road.

If there is snow, sculptures will line the sidewalks. Food and beverages will be available for purchase before, during and after the parade.

Winter Harbor Madness will take place Jan. 14 and feature an ice fishing tournament and cross-country ski race.
