Egg Harbor’s EGGstravaganza Returns in 2019

EGGstravaganza was conceived in 2014 as a celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Village of Egg Harbor. Because of its popularity, it’s being celebrated again in 2019 – the Village’s 55th anniversary. Twenty-eight eggs designed by various artists are now on display around the Village. Upon conclusion of the exhibit, the art will be sold at a live auction on Aug. 17 with the proceeds equally benefiting the artists and future public art projects in the Village.

EGGstravaganza serves as a community awareness and fundraising vehicle for the Public Arts Initiative (PAI) of Egg Harbor, Inc. Maps will be available for spectators to participate in an “egg hunt” to locate and observe each display.

Also, as part of the EGGstravaganza, PAI and Write On, Door County are holding two special Art/Speaks EGG-Phrastic Writing Labs. During these writing labs, participants may write in response to one of the 28 eggs on display around Egg Harbor.

The writing labs are free and open to all ages, with a special emphasis on youth writing in July. Labs are scheduled for June 27, 1-2pm, and July 18, 11am-12pm, at the Kress Pavilion.
