Ellen Kort at The Clearing

Wisconsin poet, Ellen Kort, will teach a one-day workshop – A Poetry Worthshop – at The Clearing on Saturday, October 11. In this workshop, participants will become part of a writing circle and explore a variety of exercises that will encourage them to get creative energy flowing and to welcome the basic instinct of the deeper self, the poet that lives within. The workshop is for writers and poets of all levels. The price is $90 and includes a catered lunch.

Ellen Kort was Wisconsin’s first poet laureate, and has authored 13 books, including seven books of poetry. She has many published works and has traveled internationally as a poet, speaker and workshop facilitator. She teaches at an art charter school for high school students in Appleton, Wisconsin, does visiting poet residencies in schools and does poetry workshops for teachers, physicians and psychologists.
