Enjoy Scents of the Season at Crossroads

Crossroads at Big Creek’s Collins Learning Center will be closed for Thanksgiving on Nov. 28, but the restrooms and trails will remain open.

Join a Crossroads naturalist Nov. 29, 10 am, for a gentle walk through the Big Creek preserve to enjoy the air and work off some of that Thanksgiving dinner. Dress for the weather.

Enjoy the scents of the season Nov. 30, 11 am, during another gentle ramble, when hikers will focus on the smells of the late-autumn/early-winter forest. Meet at the Collins Learning Center.

Join Friends of Crossroads for a Deck the Halls Party Dec. 3, 5:30 pm. Attendees will put up the Forestree, the Fish Tree, wreaths and garland to prepare the Collins Learning Center for the holidays. An evening of fellowship and a light supper will follow the decorating.

Then at 7 pm, the Door Peninsula Astronomical Society will hold its regular meeting, with program topics to include “Images from the Observatory” and “M15, Globular Cluster.” All are welcome, and refreshments will be served. Meet in the Stonecipher Astronomy Center.

The Collins Learning Center, 2041 Michigan St. in Sturgeon Bay, is open weekdays, 10 am – 4 pm. Trails are open 24/7. All three Crossroads preserves are closed to hunting.
