Complete Spring Election Results: Ephraim Dry No More

Wisconsin’s last dry community voted overwhelmingly to allow sales of beer and wine in the April 5 election.

There were two questions related to the sale of alcohol on the ballot. The first asked voters to approve sales of beer for on or off-premise consumption, while the second asked voters to approve the sale of wine in restaurants.

Ephraim Referendum

Question 1: Approval of Class B license for the on- or off-sale of malted beverages.

Yes:  2,387 or 64.15%

BUG Fire/ EMS Referendum

The Towns of Brussels, Union, and Gardner approved an advisory referendum which requests authorization to construct a new fire/EMS station in south Brussels and to build an addition to the north Brussels-Union-Gardner Fire Station at a sum not to exceed $2.8 million.

Sturgeon Bay Mayor

After giving what sounded like a departure speech by thanking staff, common council members past and present, and the community at the end of the public portion of the April 5 Sturgeon Bay Common Council meeting, Mayor Thad Birmingham won re-election.
