Eradicating Invasives at The Rushes

Several work days have been scheduled for The Rushes on Kangaroo Lake. Tree planting and some invasives control on the trails are scheduled for April 29 through May 1. May 27 – 29 has been set aside for Japanese Barberry control, and invasives work and trail maintenance is scheduled for Oct. 21 – 23.

Those interested in volunteering can pick one, two or all three days to help. The hours will be approximately 9 am to 5 pm the first and second days, and 9 am to noon on the third day. The Rushes will provide lunch on the second day and snacks and drinks after work on the first and second days.

The Rushes Wilderness Foundation will provide lodging for those who wish to participate at the Maritime Inn Best Western in Sturgeon Bay (mention the Rushes Wilderness Foundation when making the reservation and have them bill the foundation direct).
