OBITUARY: Eugene “Gene” Wagner

Eugene “Gene” Wagner, 95, died Dec. 22, 2018 at Anna’s Healthcare in Sturgeon Bay. He has now joined his beloved wife, Ruth. He was born Sept. 19, 1923 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of the late Reinholdt and Emma (Behrenbruch) Wagner. Following high school, Gene graduated from UW-Madison receiving his BA in Banking. He served his country during WWII in the Army Air Corp. On May 5, 1945, he married his childhood sweetheart, Ruth E. Deitmer in Chicago. They moved to Des Plaines in 1972 and lived there until moving to Sturgeon Bay in 2012 to be near their children, Bob and Nancy. Ruth preceded him in death on June 20, 2018.

Gene retired from the United States Federal Reserve, Midwest Region, as Sr. Vice President. His wife, Ruth, was his everything.

He leaves his two children, Nancy Andriacchi and Robert (Tina) Wagner, both of Sturgeon Bay.

There will be no public services.
