Farm Bureau Presents Book to Fifth Grade Class

Steve Baxter (right), president of the Door County Farm Bureau presented Mrs. Kuffel’s fifth grade class at Saint John Bosco Catholic School with Farm Bureau’s Book of the Year.

On April 10 the Door County Farm Bureau presented Mrs. Kuffel’s fifth grade class at Saint John Bosco Catholic School in Sturgeon Bay with Farm Bureau’s book of the year, Seed Soil Sun. They were presented the book to thank them for participating in the “Ag in the Classroom” essay contest with the topic: “Why crops and plants are important to Wisconsin agriculture.”

Kyle Bruemmer wrote the Door County winning essay from Kuffel’s class. Bruemmer’s essay will be sent to the district Farm Bureau’s Women’s Committee representative to be judged among the other county winning essays. The top district essay will be sent to the state Women’s Committee for the selection of a state winner.
