Midsummer’s Music Presents Fifth Week of Virtual Concerts

Midsummer’s Music (midsummersmusic.com) will present its fifth week of free virtual concerts – titled Musical Mountains and Fjords – Sept. 2-6. Sirius XM and St. Louis 107.3 radio host John Clare will host the program, which features works by two remarkable Scandinavian composers, Elfrida Andrée and Edvard Grieg. 

All virtual concerts will stream online at midsummersmusic.com and the Midsummer’s Music Facebook page and YouTube channel. Programs are broadcast in two segments of approximately 30 minutes each.

Piano Quintet in E Minor by Elfrida Andrée will air Sept. 2, 7 pm; and Sept. 4, 8 pm. String Quartet No. 1 in G Minor, Op. 27, by Edvard Grieg will air Sept. 3, 7 pm; and Sept. 5, 8 pm.

Both pieces will be presented Sept. 6, 3 pm, along with interviews with the musicians. Poet Karen Wilson will also be featured during the intermission.
