Father & Son Overnight at The Ridges

The Father & Son Overnight at The Ridges on May 30 is designed specifically to allow dads and sons from ages 6 – 10 to spend quality time together while enjoying outdoor activities and learning more about nature.

Dads and sons – or granddads and grandsons – can eat, sleep, hike and enjoy an evening campfire on the grounds of The Ridges nature preserve in Baileys Harbor. The one-night camping adventure begins at 7 pm on Friday. After pitching your tent on the grounds next to the Upper Range Light, hike the trails to discover night sights, sounds and critters of the Sanctuary. End the hike around a campfire roasting marshmallows. Start the next morning with a light breakfast and tag along on an early morning bird hike before packing up and heading home.

“Our goal is to provide a fun, valuable and well-organized experience and to make some memories that last a lifetime,” said Brian Forest, Ridges education specialist. “And moms will want to know that we’ll be hosting a Mother & Daughter Overnight here on June 27.”

Campers should bring their own tents and camping supplies and meet at the Marshall Cabin, 8288 Hwy in Baileys Harbor. Marshmallows and breakfast will be provided.

The Father & Son Overnight has limited space, and advance registration is required. Program fees are $30/family for Ridges members, and $40/family for the general public. Register online at RidgesSanctuary.org or call 930.839.2802.
