Featured Pet: Lady Garland

Meet Lady Garland. She’s a three-year-old, apricot-colored terrier mix who weighs 15-20 lbs. This very enduring and sweet girl was found as a stray right up the road from the Door County Humane Society (DCHS) at Potawatomi State Park. Lady Garland was running in the cold winter weather for at least five days before someone caught her and brought her in a couple weeks before Christmas – hence the name. She loves human company, chewing bones and hanging outside. She’s great in the car and likes to take walks. Because her coat is a little sparse, she needs a little jacket to stay warm in the winter months. Also, Lady Garland is a tough lady and seems to be dominant. She would be best suited for a home with no other pets. If interested in meeting her, stop in during normal open hours.

The Door County Humane Society, located at 3475 County PD in Sturgeon Bay, is open 12 – 6 pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday; and 12 – 4 pm Saturday. For more information, call 920.746.1111 or visit doorcountyhumanesociety.org.
