“FLEX: A Show of Strength by Door County Emerging Artists” Opens

It’s round two for an exhibition featuring artwork from Door County’s up and coming artists. The exhibit, now in its second year, kicks off with a free reception open to the public this Saturday, August 22, from 5 – 7:30 pm in Studio 1 at the Peninsula School of Art, located at 3900 County Road F in Fish Creek. The exhibit runs until Friday, September 4.

“FLEX:  A Show of Strength by Emerging Artists of Door County” is the second show of its kind to be put together by the college interns at the Peninsula School of Art. A few changes, however, have been made from the previous year.

“This year the show will be juried by Professor Emeriti David Damkoehler of the University of Wisconsin Green Bay and painter and gallery owner Margaret Lockwood of Woodwalk Gallery in Egg Harbor,” explains Logan Woods, an intern from the school. “We wanted to increase the number of artists represented and boost the competition with the introduction of jurors. We’ve got quite a stellar line-up from the area, and it’s impressive to see it all in one venue.”

Artworks of all media and subject matter will be on display and many available for purchase.

The School and Guenzel Gallery are open Monday through Saturday, 9 am – 5 pm. For more information visit http://www.peninsulaartschool.com.
