FOG Receives Donation for Anti-Bullying Program

On Sept. 18, the Rotary Club of Door County North presented $1,000 to Vinni Chomeau, head of Friends of Gibraltar, to support Gibraltar’s Challenge Day program on Dec. 11. Students first participated in the anti-bullying program last school year.

During Challenge Day, leaders work to create trust and connection, then help participants step out of their comfort zones through music and games. Students begin to recognize stereotypes and labels among them and then are willing to share and connect as human beings. Later in the day, participants examine the impacts of bullying, oppression and other forms of violence on their lives and those of people around them.Several Rotary Club members have also volunteered to participate as adult leaders on Challenge Day.
