Four From County on Packerland Boys All-Conference List

Gibraltar senior Sam Forkert led four Door County players named to the Packerland Conference 1st or 2nd Team. Forkert was the only county player named to the first team and is the first Gibraltar player to earn the honor since Paul Nelson in 1999.

Gibraltar’s Sam Forkert is the only Door County player on the Packerland’s All-Conference 1st Team. He finished his career 15th on the county’s all-time scoring list with 873 career points.

Southern Door senior Alex Tassoul and junior Jon Baudhuin were named to the 2nd Team, as was Forkert’s teammate, senior Tom Sawyer.

Forkert led the conference in rebounding and finished third in scoring, ending his career as the second-leading scorer in Gibraltar history with 873 points, placing him 15th in Door County annals. Sawyer squeaked past Doug Curzon and into fourth place on the school’s list with 793 points, good for 25th all-time in the county.

Senior Logan Ellman of Oconto was named the unanimous player of the year for the second straight season. He led the conference in scoring and assists and finished second in rebounding. He was the only repeat 1st Team selection from last year.
