Write On, Door County will host a free fiction-writing program for high school students Jan. 20, 1-3 pm, led by novelist and Write On writer-in-residence, Emmett Knowlton.
A former staffer at HBO’s Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel with a master’s degree in creative writing, Knowlton’s work has appeared in The New York Times, Insider, The Masters Review and MAYDAY Magazine.
The goal of Knowlton’s class is to reduce the fear of the blank page and demystify the process of beginning to write. Knowlton will guide participants through foundational story texts and help them understand what makes a story. Participants will leave this writing-intensive session with at least one draft of their own story.
The program will be held at Write On, Door County, 4210 Juddville Rd. in Fish Creek.
