Friends’ Book Sale at Sturgeon Bay Library

The Friends of Door County Library will be holding its 2010 Book Sale July 29 – 31. More than 10,000 books will be available for sale and will cost just $1 for a hard cover book and 25¢ for children’s books. Where else can such a great bargain be found?

This sale is held in the basement of the Door County Library in Sturgeon Bay at 107 S 4th Avenue. Thursday hours for Friends members only are 6 – 8:30 pm; however, memberships can be purchased that evening for $5. The sale is open to the public on Friday and Saturday, July 30 and 31; hours are 9 am – 4 pm.

There are hundreds of easily-browsed, books, magazines, movies and other special or nostalgic items for adults, teens and children. A wide selection of Wisconsin books and videotapes will be featured. There are fiction and non-fiction subjects of local, regional and statewide interest. There will also be about 400 rare and vintage books available for the book collector. These special books have been donated over many years, and their prices reflect market value.

Money earned at the Book Sale is returned to the library in the form of grants to purchase equipment or books. Funds for some children’s programs are also provided.
