FSA Announcements

The Wisconsin Farm Service Agency (FSA) has several announcements for producers and farmers.

State Executive Director Brad Pfaff announced that FSA will issue Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) and Direct and Counter-cyclical Program (DCP) payments during the first few weeks of October.

As of September 2012, Wisconsin has 368,000 acres enrolled in CRP and participants will be receiving a total of $30.7 million in rental payments.

Also, Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack announced, “Hispanic and women farmers who believe they have faced discriminatory practices from the USDA must file a claim by March 25, 2013 in order to have a chance to receive a cash payment or loan forgiveness.”

Vilsack continues, “The opening of this claims process is part of USDA’s ongoing efforts to correct the wrongs of the past and ensure fair treatment to all current and future customers.”
