Gibraltar Director Inducted To State Hall Of Fame As Her Students Take Home Awards

Gibraltar performing arts director Lizbeth Thomas was inducted into the Wisconsin Interscholastic Theater Hall of Fame at Green Bay’s Weidner Center during the 2023 Wisconsin Interscholastic Theatre Festival.

In addition to being the high school musical director at Gibraltar, Thomas coaches the forensics team and directs Gibraltar High School One Act. One Act has qualified for the State Theater Festival 18 times during Thomas’s 20 years of directing, and garnered 51 awards. 

The 2023 One Act team added to this list of accomplishments by earning seven state awards with its performance of the comedy play, All in the Timing. These awards include the Critics’ Choice Award, Ensemble Award, Technical Award, Directors Award, and three Outstanding Actor Awards, earned by sophomore Emerson Lecy and seniors Bekka Porter and Italia De La Torre.
