Gibraltar Students Create Visions of Peace

Evan Board, an 8th grader at Gibraltar, took first place in the “Visions of Peace” Poster Contest.

The Gibraltar Middle School art students joined 350,000 children throughout the world by participating in the Lions Club International Peace Poster Contest.

The students brainstormed about their perception of peace for the contest’s theme, “Visions of Peace.” They also discussed how they, as individuals, can make a powerful statement through their artwork. They created brightly colored compositions using a variety of media.

Pat Hickey, Carla Marr, and Steve Minten judged the contest. Clint Robison from the Sister Bay Lions Club organized the event and Roberta Champeau helped create the certificates.
