Gills Rock Artists Present Art and Garden Tour

What would it be like to live and work in a beautiful area like Door County? Five artists are opening the doors to their studios, galleries and grounds in hopes of providing a glimpse of what it’s like to be inspired by the natural beauty of Door County each day. The public is encouraged to travel north to visit with the Gills Rock Artists on July 30 through Aug. 1.

For three days, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, the Gills Rock Artists welcome visitors from 10 am – 5 pm to their individual studio/galleries to show off their artwork, grounds and gardens. Five top painters, including Bonnie Paruch, Wayne Simmons, Rob Williams, Bob Bentley, and Jim Maronek, will greet visitors at their studios with refreshments and demonstrations.

All five locations are located within several miles of each other in the Gills Rock-Ellison Bay area, and can be visited within a single outing. Maps are available at the Ellison Bay Tourist Center and can be found in the Door Peninsula Arts Guide 2009. Follow the yellow arrow signs with “Great Days” on them.
