Shari Gransee, owner of Ephraim’s Fine Line Designs Gallery, was a juror in the Milwaukee Art Museum’s annual Lakefront Festival of Art June 21-23.
For 50-plus years, the event has been an important part of Milwaukee’s art and festival scene, and it has been named one of the nation’s top 20 art festivals. More than 180 artists from around the country display and sell their work.
Along with fellow jurors, Gransee was responsible for reviewing more than 900 entries and whittling them to 10 award winners, nine honorable mentions and one sculpture-garden award winner.
“It was humbling and an honor to be selected as a juror for this year’s Lakefront Festival of Art,” Gransee said. “Having worked in and owned a gallery for 18 years, it was interesting and challenging to look at more than 900 entries and choose who would be accepted. The enormity of the task made it both overwhelming and exciting – it was truly a professional highlight and a wonderful experience.”
