The Hardy and PenArt Collaborate for Hamilton Press Workshop

The Hardy Gallery and Peninsula School of Art are partnering to present an exciting opportunity for those interested in learning the art of printmaking from the experts: The Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum. The demonstration will showcase how a traditional letter wood type press works followed by a workshop, which is offered to anyone interested in making their own letter press cards and posters. The Hamilton Press Workshop will be hosted at the Peninsula School of Art in Fish Creek during their annual Family Art Day on Feb. 20, 9 am – 5 pm.

While the Peninsula School of Art Family Art Day is free for all local families and for children of all ages, enrollment for the Hamilton workshop will be $40 per person for ages 14 and up. This year’s Family Art Day ties in perfectly with Hamilton Press and their theme: Printmaking in the Style of Charlie Lyons.

The day will start with a free demonstration by the Hamilton Press from 9:15 am – 12 pm, where anyone can see how the letter press works. From 1 – 4 pm, enrolled members will be able to select their letter type and message and print unlimited cards and/or posters. There will be open enrollment until the start of the class. Early enrollment can be made through the Hardy Gallery by calling their office at 920.854.2210 or email [email protected].
