Hardy Gallery Issues Call for Art

The prospectus for the Hardy Gallery’s 50th Annual Juried Exhibition is now available. This year’s juried exhibit, which runs from June 9 through July 15, is dedicated to the memory of founder and visionary Francis Howe Hardy.

The call for entries is open to all artists18 years or older and all media is eligible. The artwork is chosen through deliberation among five jurors who are all active arts professionals in Northeast Wisconsin. Selected jurors for the 50th Anniversary Juried Exhibition are photographer Daniel B. Anderson; painter Craig Blietz; sculptor Allen Caucutt; printmaker, painter and sculptor Sally Duback; and landscape painter Margaret Lockwood.

This exhibit features the Wall-to-Wall Salon, a weeklong display of all the artwork submitted for the annual juried exhibit. Also, this event launches the 2012 season with a party on May 26 from 5:30 – 7 pm. The public is invited to attend and encouraged to vote for their favorite pieces with the People’s Choice Award; this award recipient will be included in the final juried exhibition regardless of juror selection.

At the opening of the Juried Exhibit on June 8, $750 in cash awards will be presented including a People’s Choice Award, three Juror’s Awards at $150, and the Francis Howe Hardy Watercolor Excellence Award of $250 for the submission of an outstanding watercolor painting.
