“Hats through the Ages” is Next Gibraltar Talks Program

The next Gibraltar Historical Association Gibraltar Talks program is “Hats through the Ages” with guest speaker Ann Sullivan. The program takes place Sept. 1 at 7 pm at Fish Creek’s Old Town Hall.

Sullivan will take the audience on a journey back to the 1860s and introduce the hats that might have crossed the threshold of the Alexander Noble Home and throughout Door County during that time. Attendees will hear about the development of hats and their importance in history. Preserving the past is just one mission of the Gibraltar Historical Association, and they have acquired a vast array of hats through the ages and just received a wonderful donation from local historian Helen Allen of more than a dozen. Bonnets, boater, cloche, pillbox are just a few of the terms that’ll be tossed around.

Don’t be shy – wear a hat to the talk, or bring one you wonder how old it might be. Light refreshments will be served.
