Have a Holly Jolly Holly Days

Holly Days will feature horse drawn carriage rides throughout Egg Harbor.

The Egg Harbor Business Association (EHBA) announces this year’s Holly Day’s festival to be held the weekend of Thanksgiving, Nov. 23 and 24. The event will kick off the official Christmas shopping season with a little family fun, lots of holiday decorations and festive activities for all ages.

The event starts with Breakfast with Santa at the Landmark Resort on Friday from 8:30 – 10:30 am. There are plenty of fun-filled activities for kids and adults alike such as arts and crafts, hayrides, cookie decorating, photos with Santa, plenty of seasonal decorations, and a delicious breakfast.

This old-fashioned family weekend features a children’s Elf Hunt and a Mistle Dough shopping contest for adults on Friday and Saturday. Horse-drawn wagon rides downtown Egg Harbor will begin at Mojo Rosa’s and will be narrated by Egg Harbor’s Historical Society.

On Friday, the public is welcome to take photos with Santa, enjoy a traditional Christmas tree lighting, and an old-fashioned sing-a-long full of Christmas carols and joyous holiday spirit.

Saturday’s festivities begin with Christmas cookie decorating at Pink Bakery. All proceeds will go to the Hurricane Sandy Relief Fund. On Saturday Door County’s own Third Avenue Playhouse performer will be caroling downtown from noon until 3 pm and will perform a playful holiday skit at Harbor View Park (1:30 pm). Prizes for the Elf Hunt and Mistle Dough shopping contest will also be awarded at 3 pm at Harbor View Park.
