Heading East

Sandra and Wence Martinez will greet craft collectors at their booth – number 2405 – at the American Craft Council Show in Baltimore, Maryland from Feb. 21 – 23. “Normally this is a juried show, but we received an invitation to be part of it. It’s an incredible honor,” said Sandra. Only the Smithsonian Craft Show in Washington, D.C., where collectors – including Martha Stewart, noticed Wence and Sandra’s work last spring rivals the Baltimore show’s reputation.

Wence and Sandra will show their work alongside top contemporary artists working in glass, jewelry, wood, ceramics, and fiber. “The American Craft Council is an important organization,” says Sandra. “Their magazine is a work of art and their archives in Minneapolis document the history of American craft. We spent a few days there in the fall and learned so much.”

“We love this chapter of our lives,” adds Sandra. “The national exposure has reinforced us on every level. Surrounded by our latest work, chatting away with so many new people, we feel grateful and inspired. Baltimore, here we come!”
