Heritage Farm Starts Three-part Series “Our Dairy Past” on May 19

Heritage Farm will hold the first of a three-part series, “Our Dairy Past,” on May 19 to reunite farmers in Northeastern Wisconsin with their past memberships in local coops, dairies and cheese plants. The first in the series will cover the Lake to Lake Dairy Cooperative and showcase the “Lake to Lake Girl” that was featured on many silos across the countryside, advertising “For Goodness Sake, Buy Lake to Lake Dairy Products.” The event is scheduled for 9 am to 3 pm, with a panel of speakers at 1 pm.

All former Lake to Lake patrons in the area are invited to attend, along with truckers and employees from any of the plants. Food, refreshments and famous Heritage Farm Baking will be available. All the buildings will be open for viewing, and the Hamacheck Pea Combine will be on display, along with Colton, the Pink Heals Fire Truck.

Future series topics are Krohn’s Dairy and the small dairy plants that dotted the countryside in Kewaunee, Manitowoc, Door and Brown counties.

Admission is free. For more information call Dale at 920.323.3323 or Sue at 920.471.9289.
