Highland Road Featured for the Door County Treasure Hunt

The first annual Door County Treasure Hunt, sponsored by Write On, Door County, will feature music by local bluegrass band Highland Road at a picnic dinner at Sawyer Farms in Egg Harbor. The event will be emceed by Tom Clay, executive director of Door County Land Trust. The dinner and party conclude the Sept. 30 Treasure Hunt, during which teams will try to earn as many points as possible by exploring northern Door County.

Highland Road consists of Tad Gilster on guitar, Andy Coulson on banjo, Rick Gordon on bass, and Tony Gebauer on mandolin. The Fish Creek-based band has been performing around the county for more than a decade and is excited to be part of this new opportunity to celebrate and explore the county. Highland Road will play a mix of traditional and contemporary bluegrass covers, including songs by Flatt & Scruggs, the Gibson Brothers, and Blue Highway.

Registration for the Treasure Hunt is still open. Teams of two to five people can register by visiting doorcountytreasurehunt.com. All ages are welcome and families are encouraged to take part.

Money raised by the event will benefit Write On, Door County, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Write On conducts programs to inspire people of all ages to write and share their stories at various venues throughout Door County.
