Highway Project in Sevastopol Starts April 24

The $1,554,844 project to improve 1.2 miles of Highway 42/57 – from Egg Harbor Road north – in the Town of Sevastopol will get underway April 24.

The majority of the work will occur during the overnight hours under a Highway 42/57 closure and detour to provide the least possible traffic impacts to motorists, and the project is expected to be completed in June.

Northeast Asphalt of Greenville, Wisconsin, is the prime contractor. Project improvements include resurfacing existing lanes and shoulders, widening paved shoulders to five feet and making upgrades to culverts, guardrails, signing and pavement marking.

The highway will remain open to traffic between 6 am and 6 pm. During the evening, highway closures with signed detour routes will be allowed. Access to side roads and adjacent properties will be maintained throughout the duration of the project. See the construction project’s webpage at projects.511wi.gov/wis42shore.
