Home Energy Assistance Offices Moving

The Wisconsin Home Energy Assistance Program (WHEAP), which provides assistance for heating and electric costs, including crisis energy situations, is moving. Effective Oct. 1, WHEAP energy assistance services will be provided by the Door County Department of Human Services, located in the Government Center at 421 Nebraska St., Sturgeon Bay. Human Services previously contracted with We Are HOPE, Inc. to deliver energy assistance services. As of Oct. 1, 2016, Door County residents wishing to apply for WHEAP should contact the Department of Human Services at 920.746.7155. Note that the Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) will continue to be operated by We Are HOPE. WAP is a separate program which helps renters and homeowners reduce their energy consumption.
