Idea Gallery Demo, Auction Brings in Donation for Miller Art Museum

One of Idea Gallery’s artists, Jeff Boutin of Eden Prairie, Minn., recently demonstrated his “tree” palette painting technique for 34 people at the gallery in West Jacksonport. The painting was then auctioned off with the proceeds benefiting Miller Art Museum in Sturgeon Bay. The monies will be used to offer awards of recognition in Miller’s annual juried shows.

Tom and Keli Groenfeldt won the auction and were impressed by Boutin’s impasto-like style that is reminiscent of works by Van Gogh. This collaboration between Idea Gallery, the artist, the patrons, and Miller Art Museum is just another reason why people are finding their way to the gallery at 6551 Cty T in West Jacksonport.

Boutin’s paintings will be displayed through Oct. 29. The gallery is open 11 am – 5 pm daily. For more information visit ideagalleryart.com.
