Island Foundation Receives Sustainability Grant

The Door County Community Foundation has awarded the Washington Island Foundation (WIF) a sustainability grant from the Carol Coryell Charitable Fund, Door County Health and Human Needs Fund, John and Nell Herlache Community Impact Fund, and Ruth and Hartley Barker Memorial Fund.

This grant provides financial assistance to WIF to replace 35-year-old, rusted and worn lockers in two locker rooms at the Washington Island Recreation Center. WIF supports the physical structure and operations of the Rec Center, which offers a swimming pool, whirlpool, locker rooms, and workout and multi-purpose space while it also serves as a year-round social center.
