Island Orchard Cider Introduces Ice Cider and Longer Hours

The tasting room of Island Orchard Cider has new, longer hours: till 9 pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Owners Robert and Yannique Purman decided to stay open later so that “residents and visitors can relax with a glass of French-style cider and enjoy the evening on our patio.” Free tastings are offered daily beginning at noon.

The cider house is also the only place to buy their new product, Ice Cider. “This is an intense apple experience that balances sweetness and acidity,” said Robert.

Sweeter and higher in alcohol than other offerings, Ice Cider boasts eight pounds of heirloom apples in each 375-ml bottle. “We experimented this winter and have a very limited supply,” said Robert, who expects to be sold out as soon as Labor Day.

Island Orchard Cider is located at 12040 Garrett Bay Rd. in Ellison Bay. Tastings are free and offered daily through Oct. 24. For more information find them on Facebook.
