James ‘Mike’ Barker Named Sturgeon Bay Municipal Services Director

The City of Sturgeon Bay named James “Mike” Barker its new municipal services director.

Barker comes to the city after 23 years with the United States Coast Guard. He was stationed in Sturgeon Bay from 2004 to 2006.

“Mike’s prior career, education, and leadership skills are the traits that will help make Mike a success in Sturgeon Bay,” said City Administrator Josh VanLieshout.

Barker replaces Bob Bordeau, who resigned abruptly in February when the city launched an investigation into inappropriate behavior.

Barker starts June 4.
