John Miles County Park Plan Moves Forward

The Door County Parks and Land Use Services Departments recently held six meetings and tours of the John Miles County Park to kick off the development of a new recreational plan for the park.

The open house meetings were conducted to present information regarding the planning process, tour the grounds, and gather input from participants. Participants were encouraged to fill out a short survey regarding the park. This survey is still open to any individual or organization that would like to offer input on the park’s future, even if you did not attend a meeting. The survey questions are listed below:

  • How do/does you or your organization currently use the John Miles County Park, if at all?
  • How could you or your organization better use the park if existing buildings or grounds were remodeled, expanded, or improved?
  • What new buildings or grounds would you or your organization, as related to your organization’s mission, like to see happen at the park?

Responses to these questions may still be submitted online here. Responses may also be submitted by email to [email protected], by fax to 920.746.2387, or by mail to Door County Land Use Services Department, 421 Nebraska St., Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235. Survey responses and any comments regarding the planning process may be submitted at any time up through Monday, Aug. 7, 2017.

Other documents regarding the planning process can be found here, including a site assessment which describes current uses and previous plans related to the park. These documents may also be viewed at the Land Use Services Department during regular business hours.
