Kewaunee to Discuss County E Bridge Replacement

Kewaunee County is announcing a public information meeting to discuss the proposed replacement of the bridge on County E over the recreational trail. The project is located about one mile north of the City of Kewaunee. The recreational trail is part of the Ahnapee State Trail and the Ice Age National Scenic Trail. The meeting is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 24, from 5:30 to 6:30 pm at the Kewaunee County Highway Dept., E4280 County Road F, Kewaunee. No formal presentations will be given. Exhibits and maps will be available for review, and project representatives will be on hand to address any questions or concerns. The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, provide input and ask questions concerning this project. The proposed project will replace the existing bridge with a new structure in the same location. It will also include work on the roadway approaching the bridge. The new structure will maintain a grade separation between the roadway and trail. No changes to the recreational trail are proposed. A limited amount of new right of way will be required for the project. Construction is scheduled for 2018. County E and the recreational trail will be closed to through traffic during construction.
