Sevastopol Students Win at Miss Door County Event

Kylee Duessler and Emily Bley will be advancing to the Miss Wisconsin and Wisconsin Teen pageants after being crowned Miss Door County and Miss Door County Teen at the 27th Miss Door County competition Feb. 3. At the pageant, $8,500 were awarded in college scholarships.

The Miss Wisconsin event takes place June 17-22 in Oshkosh.

The Miss Door County 2024 contestants won the following scholarships:

Kylee Duessler is a Sevastopol High School senior who plans to attend UW-Milwaukee and major in Biomedical Engineering. For her talent, she played “Andante et Allegro” on the trumpet. Her community service initiative she will promote throughout the year is called, “Trust Your Training; Anxiety Awareness in Athletics.” She won the top prize scholarship of $2,000, overall interview ($250), evening wear ($300) and STEAM scholarship ($125).

Vanessa Demarinis won a $500 non-finalist scholarship, quality of life ($100), people’s choice ($250), and non-finalist fitness ($50) scholarships.

Abrielle Lenius won a $500 non-finalist scholarship, STEAM ($125), Miss Congeniality ($100), overall talent ($200) and on-stage question ($50) scholarships.

The Miss Door County’s Teen 2024 contestants won the following scholarships:

Emily Bley is a senior at Sevastopol High School who plans to attend NWTC to study nursing. For her talent, Emily sang “Back to December” by Taylor Swift. Her community service initiative that she will promote throughout the year is called, “Nutrition Before Competition.” She was awarded the $1,000 winning scholarship, teen congeniality ($100), overall interview ($250), overall talent $200), and evening gown ($300).

Anna Dalke won the non-finalist ($500) and Spritka Sister ($250) scholarships.

Isabel Jeanquart won the non-finalist ($500), People’s Choice ($250) and non-finalist fitness ($25) scholarships. Sayde Jeanquart won the non-finalist ($500), non-finalist fitness ($25) and non-finalist on-stage question ($50) scholarships.
