Learn to Write

Write On, Door County offers many opportunities for writers of all ages and levels of experience to exercise their creative muscles in August. Whether you have a novel in mind, would like to start a memoir, or just want to learn more about being a better writer, there is something for you.

From Aug. 18 –Aug. 23, 8:30 – 11:30 am, novelist Cynthia Kraack will teach writers how to approach novel writing and about today’s evolving publishing market. Kraack is the author of the Ashwood trilogy and the award-winning Minnesota Cold. A fifth novel is scheduled for release in early 2015. Tuition is $120. Class is limited to 10 participants.

On Aug. 25, 3:30 pm – 5 pm, writer Erin Hart will help students draw on memory and all five senses, to bring your memoir to vivid life on the page. Hart writes a series of archaeological crime novels set in the mysterious Irish boglands – Haunted Ground, Lake of Sorrows, False Mermaid, and The Book of Killowen. The workshop will be held at Glas Coffeehouse, 67 E. Maple St, Sturgeon Bay. Tuition is $30. Class is limited to 15 participants.
