LeMieux 1st, Veeser and Turner 2nd at Preble

Three Door County wrestlers finished in the top-two at Saturday’s girls tournament hosted by Green Bay Preble.

At 145 pounds, Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol’s Tiani LeMieux won the title match on a pin against Southern Door’s Hailey Veeser, who finished second. Prior to facing off for the championship, both wrestlers won their first two matches on pins.

At 126 pounds, the Eagles’ Sydney Turner won four matches on pins before losing the match for first on a pin to Peshtigo’s Addisen Olson and placing second.

The postseason starts Feb. 10 for the county’s boys wrestling teams with Southern Door in Division 3 and competing at the regional hosted by Cedar Grove-Belgium, while Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol is in Division 2 and will compete in the regional at Two Rivers.

The girls will not have a regional again this year and begin the postseason in two weeks at the sectional level.
